ABSTRACT:
Dengue virus infection is a major global public health concern, characterized by a wide clinical spectrum ranging from mild febrile illness to severe hemorrhagic manifestations and organ dysfunction. Laboratory biomarkers such as serum immunoglobulin E (IgE), packed cell volume (PCV) and liver
function tests (LFTs) have been investigated for their diagnostic, prognostic, and pathophysiological relevance in dengue infection. However, the evidence remains scattered, with varying results across populations and disease severities. Alterations in serum IgE, elevated PCV, and deranged liver
enzymes are common in dengue infection and more pronounced in severe disease. PCV remains a reliable marker of plasma leakage, while elevated liver enzymes reflect hepatic involvement. In this article, systematic review on serum IgE, PCV and liver function tests in dengue positive patients has
been discussed.
