Screening & isolation of L-asparaginase producing bacteria from diverse niches
Author: Shivaji S, Priyanka N

L-asparaginase (L-asparagine amido hydrolase, E.C.3.5.1.1) is an extracellular enzyme that has been used as a chemotherapeutic agent against, acute lymphoblastic leukemia & lymphosarcomas. The natural varied sources viz., vermi compost, milk waste water, roots of Sadaphuli plant soil sample, slaughter house soil sample, effluent treatment plant(waste water), & fish gut samples were used in order to obtain maximum L-asparaginase producing novel micro-organisms.

Metal Quantum Dots
Author: Jadhav Ajay Mohan, Deepali P Butala & Shobha Waghmode

In this review we have studied the technology that has emerged in the last few decades and reached the pinnacle of success. MQDs have attracted attention for their extraordinary optical properties and wide utilization in biological studies. Quantum Metal Dots, a technology that has emerged in recent times, is at the peak of the success today. Quantum dots (QDs) are in the category of semiconductor nanocrystals whose radii are less than or close to the exciton Bohr radius(10-9 m).QDs are capable in the biological and medical fields to function as a new fluorescent marker, because of their unique photophysical properties like emission spectrum, broad excitation spectrum, tunable emission wavelengths etc.

Lipase enzyme based green chemistry detergents for cleaning industry
Author: Komal Janardhan Vanjare1 & Shobha Waghmode1

A detergent composition is divided into different classes on the basis of raw materials such as surfactants, builders, bleaching agents, enzymes, and minors which remove dirt, stain and soil from surfaces or textiles gave them pleasant feel and odour. This review paper describes the history, composition, types, mechanism, how detergent work, environmental effects and consumption of laundry detergents. This article also reviews the use of enzymes, especially lipases as detergents and different types of lipase containing detergents available in the market. This review describes the applications of microbial lipases in detergents which can reduce the environmental load of detergent products as the chemicals used in conventional detergents, biodegradable, non-toxic and leave no harmful residues.

CO2 capture by metal organic frameworks
Author: S. B. Kapure1, Heena Meroliya1, Sharda Gadale & Shobha. A. Waghmode

The Kyoto Protocol confirmed the existence of global warming and the anthropogenic CO2 emission caused it. The increased CO2 levels in the atmosphere have been creating number of problems; few of them are increase in average temperatures, temperature extremes, extreme weather events, ice melt, sea levels and ocean acidification. The CO2 alone is not present in the atmosphere. The CO2 capture is sensitive to the water vapour & another difficulty is the capture capacity. The current technologies for CO2 capture are amine solvents technology, ionic solvents technology, carbonaceous adsorbents, and zeolite.

Carbon quantum dots
Author: Mane Viren Vijaya, Deepali Butala & Shobha Waghmode

Carbon Quantum dots are a class of materials studied under Nanotechnology. We know that nanotechnology is a wide research topic as it has wide range of applications in various fields. This review is about carbon quantum dots which is the carbon material in the range 1-10 nm. Carbon Quantum dots with unique optical properties, low toxicity, low cost and simple synthetic routes are very important research topic in coming decades. CQDs have 2 approaches for fabrication top-down and bottom-up. CQDs are also known as fluorescent carbon nanoparticles. In this review we have discussed the information about carbon quantum dots, their synthesis, properties and also their wide range of applications in various fields like optronics, bio medicine, and sensors etc.

ROLE OF p16 AND Ki67 BIOMARKERS IN CERVICAL CANCER: A REVIEW
Author: Shivam Bhardwaj, Dewashish Kaushik, Alokit Tanwar

Cervical cancer is one of the most common and dangerous diseases in India and even globally which accounts for around 5% deaths per annum. Screening of cervical cancer is the only step which is proven to be most significant in prevention from high mortality rates. There are various types of techniques developed till date like liquid based cytology, HPV DNA testing and Pap tests which are helpful in screening of cervical cancer, but such techniques are associated with some kind of limitations related to sensitivity and specificity. It leads to the need of some novel technique which can provide results with high sensitivity and specificity. In the research for the same, there are many biomarkers which are developed till date. In this literature review, we will study characteristic features of p16 which acts as a cell cycle regulatory protein that has the ability to induce cell cycle arrest and one other Ki-67 which acts as cell proliferation marker.

Bioreactor: Design, Functions and Fermentation innovations
Author: Inderjeet Kaur and Arun Dev Sharma

Fermentation technology is the field of study which involves studying, controlling and optimization of the fermentation process right up from upstream activities, mid stream and downstream or post fermentation activities. Fermentation should not be seen merely as a process that is entirely focused on the happenings occurring in the fermenter alone. Fermentation is defined as a process of energy generation by various organisms especially microorganisms. The fermentation process showed unique characteristics by which it generates energy in the absence of oxygen.

Industry is backbone to global economic development. Due to the improvement of standards in industries and technologies in recent years, they have also caused pollution by releasing toxic, carcinogenic and mutagenic heavy metals like chromium, cadmium, lead and zinc especially from the tannery industries. In this study we have collected samples from the industrial wastes like tannery effluents from different potential habitat forisolating the bacterial strain. The bacterial strain was isolated and cultured on Nutrient Agar media. These traces are concentrated on the premise in their basic and physiological research together with length and shape of the organisms were also studied with the aid of visual statement of colony, microscopic observation and biochemical assessments and the sequencing exams recognized the particular bacterial species is obviously occurring microscopic organisms fit for diminishing and detoxification of toxic substances like Cadmium, Potassium and Zinc from tannery effluent. Its metal tolerance tests and enzymatic production tests were conducted.

Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles: properties and action against bacterial biofilms
Author: Sweta Mishra, Pratyush Kumar Das

Silver nanoparticles have gained the spotlight for their application in diverse fields over the last decade. Their properties range from optical, conduction, electrochemical and electromagnetic to biological properties like antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and so on. Many investigations on silver nanoparticles show that they have the potential for eradication of antimicrobial resistance caused due to bacterial biofilms, which has become a setback against fighting microbial infections. Silver nanoparticles act against biofilms in multiple ways including damage to DNA, denaturation of proteins of the organism, creating pores or interfering with plasma membrane, generating reactive oxygen species, and many more mechanisms that make it difficult for a bacteria to gain resistance against these silver nanoparticles.
